RAFAŁ WIŚNIEWSKI: POLITICAL FUTURE OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA: AN ATTEMPT AT FORECASTING

The unresolved conflict stemming from Korean Peninsula’s division into two mutually hostile states remains one of the most destabilizing factors in North-East Asian regional order. It strongly affects all regional powers, however, China’s position as one of only two land neighbours of Korea is special. Future evolution of the political situation in Korea will have profound consequences for Beijing’s foreign policy. In this article Rafał Wiśniewski applies R/evolutions scenario building method to identify key variables shaping this process and proposes some scenarios for its future state.
