The turn of 2012 and 2013 proved to be an auspicious time for Sino-Russian relations. As both states adjusted their foreign policies to changing international environment their leaders found important commonalities in their respective approaches. This emerging state of Sino-Russian “entente” has attracted rich expert commentary. In this article Professor Vladimir Portyakov analyses current developments through the prism of long-term factors shaping the relationship between both powers and proposes scenarios of its further development.
